The Thai Immigration Office in Amnat Charoen, Thailand

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests,  we are discussing the Thai Immigration Office in Amnat Charoen, Thailand.

To start off, the Amnat Charoen Immigration Office is located at the following address: Non Nam Thaeng, Muang Amnat Charoen District, Amnat Charoen 37000.

The thing to take away from this video and to understand is first of all if you live within the jurisdiction of that Immigration Office you are going to be dealing with things like your 90-day report, your Visa renewal or your Thai visa extension; if you are doing an extension of Non-immigrant Visa status in Thailand you are going to have to deal with that office directly. The TM30 likely has to be filed there as well.

Different Immigration Offices here in Thailand do things a little bit differently and this this can cause a little bit of frustration amongst expats here in Thailand as different offices just have a slightly different way of doing things.  For example, although Thai Immigration law is a uniform body of law and it is applied uniformly, the administrative discretion which resides in the Immigration Officers at a given Immigration Office, allows them to make determinations as to eligibility as well as evidentiary requests kind of on a case-by-case basis. More to the point, different offices have come to their own consensus with respect to how they like to see a visa application submitted. At certain times the order of documentation is important and it is mostly from an efficiency standpoint.  They like to get it to the point where they can just put it all together. The line officer has it all sitting there and they can send it up the ranks so that it can be properly scrutinized, adjudicated and if approved processed through in a timely and efficient manner.  So the way that these packages are organized often times will vary from office to office. Again Thai Immigration powers reside in a sort of their plenary powers so they have a great deal of discretion compared to other types of legal matters that may arise in Thailand. Again different offices may have different requirements with respect to supporting documentation or again as noted, they may like to see it organized a certain way.

For those who are having issues with this type of thing, it may be a good idea to contact a legal professional in order to get some assistance in processing through a Visa here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
