Post-APEC Tourism "Swarm" in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing a post-APEC swarm of tourists here in Thailand. So what are we talking about with respect to post-APEC? Well for those who are unaware, Thailand just got done hosting the 2022 APEC Summit, whatever you want to call it. It was a meeting of the major economic leaders and world leaders, political leaders of the countries in the APEC region; the Asia Pacific Economic region and it came off quite well. It looks like it was kind of a resounding success, not even kind of, it was a resounding success and it looks like it was positive all the way around.

There seems to be something of a bit of a knock-on effect to this and I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Nation, that's nationthailand.com, the article is titled: Thailand can expect swarm of tourists after APEC global spotlight: Prayut. Quoting directly: "The Prime Minister is confident that the activities during the APEC Economic Leaders' Week will immediately create momentum to drive tourism," Trisulee said." And this is quoting Trisulee Trisaranakul a government spokesperson. Quoting further: “This is high season, so foreign tourists are expected to choose Thailand as their destination. Prayut also urged tourism operators to keep the quality of their services high to help attract more arrivals and boost the sectors revival to pre-Covid levels soon."

Yeah I couldn't agree more and hopefully this will. With the aftermath of APEC, we have had a lot of folks here in town, lot of folks, kind of opinion makers if you will here in Bangkok and possibly in greater Thailand. Who knows? Maybe some folks stayed and decided to make a little leisure time out of it and I am sure they have probably seen what I saw 15 years ago when I first came here which is just how beautiful and lovely Thailand truly is especially as we have gotten everything reopened and everything I think went swimmingly the last couple of days and hopefully we will see sort of a knock on effect within the tourism sector. Obviously Thailand needs it because we have had two and a half years of really stagnant tourism sector, I mean stagnant insofar as the tourism sector was literally decimated for a prolonged period of time. So all of this is very good news in my opinion and hopefully we will keep going from one win to the next as the days and weeks progress.
