Philippine Travel Rules Remain More Cumbersome Than Thai?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Philippine Immigration rules or travel rules associated with going to the Philippines. I am kind of doing a little comparative piece here comparing it to Thailand.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Thailand's "revenge tourism" boom reflected in Cambodia too. A lot of information in here; a lot of disparate information that was kind of pulled together really interestingly. I thought this was a well done article. Those who are watching this video, I urge you to check it out in detail. Quoting directly: "The Philippines reports around 2 million foreign arrivals since the country opened last February although pre-registration with Quarantine Bureau and proof of full vaccination status (plus booster) on arrival is still a requirement for many." Yes, as we have discussed, here in Thailand none of that is there anymore. We don't have any of the quarantine rules, there's no more Thailand Pass, no more Certificate of Entry, no more vaccination documentation. They were talking about doing random tests at the airport, nah, they are not going to do that anymore. Thailand is open for tourists. We are going full on here and I have got to say, I love it. I think it is a great idea and I have got to say I am really happy that Thai Officials have kind of "seen the light" so to speak and see that we really need to get a good high season going here; we really need to get some tourist numbers up; everyone is enthusiastic to see tourists back. I mean you talk to Thais on the street, they are so happy to see tourists back, it is great. They are just so happy they almost want to run up and hug them or something.

So tourism, getting it back is going to be a great thing, help the economy here and you know just be nice to get back to good old Thailand where it was a good time rather than hanging around this place when it was in the doldrums. That was just very un-Thai, I just didn't like that whole period just in general because it was just so unlike this place. So it is really good to see things getting back to where they should be. Hopefully we will start seeing some real numbers in terms of tourists and hopefully this will be a benefit for Thailand moving forward.
