We don't usually do more topical reports on countries other than Thailand or the USA pertaining to Immigration but this is a pretty substantial development, I thought it was noteworthy. Now we are taking our information via an article on Prachathai, I am going to go ahead and throw that up. That is a Thai language article. I am just going to go ahead and do a couple of bullet points here by way of translation if you will. 

So basically the ruling regime in Myanmar whatever you want to call it, it has fully suspended issuing passports for their citizens apparently as of the time of this video. They fully suspended the issuance of that as of actually January 17th; they haven't given any particular reason why they have stopped issuing passports and there is no information pertaining to how long they intend to continue this suspension. There had been some suspensions of travel documentation in the past but apparently Myanmar nationals were able to go ahead and still maintain their status in Thailand by way of a Memorandum of Understanding between the two countries but now it appears that this is fully suspended. There are apparently and we will try to keep folks updated on this as this evolves but there are serious questions as to whether or not this isn't a human rights violation which I think there are serious concerns there. Long story short, this is a major development. 

Now I know the vast majority of folks that watch our videos probably aren't going to be directly impacted by this but those with family members who are from Myanmar or folks from Myanmar who are here in Thailand, especially Companies possibly businesses here in Thailand that may employ Myanmar nationals, this could have a tremendous impact on their ability to get other documentation associated with work authorization here in Thailand. So this is definitely a major development here and as noted before, we will keep you updated on this situation as it evolves.
