Immigration Requirements for Admission to Myanmar

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing possible admission requirements to Myanmar. One thing to bear in mind, there is a lot going on in Myanmar right now. It is a pretty fluid situation over there, I'll leave it at that. I have been making videos, just general videos about admission requirements to the various countries surrounding Thailand because as Thailand is opening up and we are sort of seeing the world kind of opening up a little bit more, it seems to me that it is increasingly likely that people may want to do Border Runs to other countries in this region or just make a little side trip. If they come to Thailand, they may want to go see Myanmar for example or Cambodia, or Laos or Vietnam or something so I decided to go ahead and make these videos. They are very general, let me be clear on that, it's just for sort of general use only. If you are looking to go to Myanmar, you probably want to do your own research and understand, there is a lot going on on the ground over there so this is again just a general video.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Regional roundup of compulsory insurance regulations for July entry. Quoting directly, and there's a lot of information in there. I urge those who are watching this, check out that article directly but this excerpt I thought was pertinent to this video obviously. Quote: "Myanmar, now technically open to tourists via an online portal, requires proof of insurance and directs inquires to a choice of recommended companies. To date, the number of applications has not been overwhelming." Yeah, I would suspect that is the case, again due to the situation over there.

Long story short, it does appear it is looking possible to enter Myanmar. Again I would presume that it is going to be a bit fluid as far as the actual practical requirements to actually get in there. So those that are looking to do that, it is really probably a really good idea to do as much research as you can before deciding to make a final decision on making a trip over to Myanmar whether from anywhere else in the world or from here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
