Immigration Entry Requirements for Malaysia

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Immigration requirements associated with entry and admission to Malaysia out here in Southeast Asia. We have been doing a number of these videos here recently because as Thailand is opening up, it is looking like regional travel is going to be more feasible albeit it is probably not going to be anywhere near the volume or ease that we were used to dealing with prior to quarter one of 2020.

The reason I thought of making the video was after reading a recent article in the Pattaya Mail, pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Regional roundup of compulsory insurance regulations for July entry. Quoting directly: "Government websites have dropped the compulsory insurance requirements but may request evidence you have the financial resources for your stay. Some websites suggest otherwise, but they may be linked to Insurance Companies not actually sponsored officially by the Government." So, there seems to be a little bit of opaqueness on the internet regarding insurance but at least as of the time of this video it does appear that the insurance requirement has been dropped for those going to Malaysia. It is looking like Malaysia is sort of reopening so as you are dealing with going over there, something to bear in mind is insurance is probably not going to be high on the list as something they are going to need. Meanwhile, it is my understanding, it's my understanding, let me be clear, I'm not 100% certain on this but I do think there are some requirements associated with that online portal mentioned in order to be able to get into Malaysia.

So again we are not based down in Malaysia, this is just kind of a general information video but those who are bouncing around here out in Southeast Asia, a lot of these countries are reopening; the rules are changing rather quickly, usually for the better quite frankly and hopefully we will see the situation basically normalize as we roll out of 2022.
