Comparing Thai And Cambodian Immigration Rules

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggest, we are comparing Thai and Cambodian Immigration rules. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Neighboring countries look to Thailand for Visa reform. Quoting directly: "Thailand now offers some countries, for example South Korea and Russia, 90 days Visa exempt on arrival and without any payment. Cambodia on the other hand charges virtually all foreigners for the compulsory E-Visa or visa-on-arrival and offers just 30 days." Yeah that is a pretty succinct comparison. As usual, I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article in detail.

Long story short, there are major differences in terms of Thailand's visa system from Cambodia's visa system and yeah Thailand has gone to great pains, especially going into this high season to get rid of a number of the Visa roadblocks associated purely with tourism in Thailand.

Now bear in mind, those who want to stay and live in Thailand you have still got to deal with long-term visas, Non-Immigrant Visas like the Business Visa or the Marriage Visa, Education Visa for example or the Retirement Visa, but again in terms of even Visa exempt, there are major differences between Cambodia's Immigration System which basically has visas for everyone - you can do it either online or you can do it on arrival when you come into the airport in Cambodia. I even remember flying in there, I want to say 2008/2009, I mean that airport it was almost like flying into somebody's unfinished garage or unfinished house or something. They were putting everything together, they were literally doing Cambodian Visas on arrival at card tables, when I first went, like folding card tables. Now, it's much more sophisticated; they have a whole section of that airport that is dedicated to doing the visa on arrival, but yeah it's very different than Thailand where most nationalities coming into Thailand don't need any Visa whatsoever.
