K1 Visa Processing from Thailand During Coronavirus (COVID-19) Crisis

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing K-1 Fiancée Visas and we are specifically discussing them in front of a backdrop of the COVID-19 or Coronavirus

Folks have been asking me: “What is going on with my case? What is happening here? Can we file a case?”  Let's be clear. Filing can still occur. I made a video specifically on that. One can still file a petition for a K-1 Fiancée so if you want to get your fiancée to the United States “yes it is possible to file and based on current processing times by the time this thing processes through, the backlog from Coronavirus will hopefully have abated and your case, it will probably process somewhat similar to cases which were processed in the past; we can hope.”

Now there are some specific considerations with respect to a K-1 Fiancée Visa during this crisis and one of them is "Yes, the US Embassy Immigrant Visa Unit which would adjudicate the case and which would hold the interview and ultimately issue the Visa has currently suspended operations as of the time of this video and for that reason, "yes it is not possible to get the visa ultimately issued at this time".

We hope this will not be the case in the next 2 to 3 weeks I suspect. They probably will reopen after this crisis abates and at that point we will see the Immigrant Visa Unit start processing out cases again".

Yes, there will be a backlog during that interim period but we will be here continuing to assist our clients and processing these cases as quickly and as smoothly as we can under the circumstances.
