The K-1 Visa Process Takes That Long?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are asking the question is the K-1 Visa process really taking that long? Yeah K-1s are processing in a little over a year at best. It has been our experience since March 2020, we have only seen the process slow down if not completely freeze up entirely. Yeah, K-1s are taking quite a while.

For those out there digging around sort of in the lower layers if you will, the deep web as it was once called and I haven't seen them referred to that in some time, but if you go into the archives of these Visa forums and things out there, you will find talk from not all that long ago about K-1 Fiancé Visas taking, "oh it took me 8 months, 7 months, 9 months." Now the caseload we are seeing, you are lucky if it is coming out in a year these days. I mean I have had cases come out like that, I don't feel all that bad telling people, "okay on the fast side it is kind of like around a year", but long story short K-1s are taking longer than they have in the past. It is also the case quite honestly; American Marriage Visas are taking a long time compared to times past. K-3, CR-1, and IR-1 not a lot going on there that is going to be a respite from the long processing times associated with the K-1. Long story short, it is taking in my opinion longer. I remember going back 15 years ago it wasn't unheard of to see a K-1 process out in 4 to 6 months. Now it is a minimum taken to double that time at a maximum at that time.

Now again certain things have changed. There are certain protocols associated with it. Some I understand that make some sense, other ones I think are rather redundant and quite honestly, don't make a lot of sense but the thing to take away from this video is yeah for the time being, the K-1 process is slower than what we are used to it having been in the past.
