K-1 Visa Process in 2022

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests we are discussing the K-1 Visa process going into 2022. These visas are for fiancés of United States citizens. We process a number of these cases especially for Thai fiancés through the United States Embassy here in Bangkok Thailand. I made a number of videos similar to this one where I simply sort of took a topic in this case the K-1 Visa and we are basically looking at some things that just pop into my mind with respect to things to think about going into the New Year.

One thing to keep in mind with respect to the K-1 and with respect to really all US Immigration cases at least for the time being is backlog. We are dealing with a little bit of backlog and by a little bit I mean it is pretty substantial. We are seeing cases taking longer than they usually take. Now in the case of the K-1, the one kind of silver lining associated with a Fiancé Visa is these cases don't have to go through nearly the quagmire associated with going through the Immigrant Spouse Visa process most notably you don't have to deal with the vagaries of the National Visa Center, at least for the time being and hopefully that doesn't change. Now at the same time, again backlog of appointments can be a real problem and we have seen a number of cases where we are continuously trying to move our clients through the system but there are just no appointments available and no matter how much you know keep trying even on day-to-day hour basis, there are just not a lot of appointments available.

Now the question sort of posed is: "Is there anything going to fundamentally change in the K-1 process?" I doubt it. What I do hope is hopefully as the world situation improves we will see at least some change with respect to the backlog for the better as in we will see K-1 Visas start to hopefully move through the system at a faster pace.
