Has The American Immigration System Inverted?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the US Immigration System and honestly, this video is kind of a long time coming. I remember years back people would kind of joke and say well it's so hard to get my fiancé into the United States, I ought to just take her to Mexico and walk her across the border. I would say good luck with that!! I thought that was kind of silly but whatever.
These days I am starting to really wonder because the footage I am seeing coming off of the American Southern border, it's tough to watch as an American quite honestly. I don't even have the words to describe it. It's a humanitarian crisis on a certain level but to my mind it's also a crisis for America in the sense that we need to maintain our border security, do something about this and this is why I made this video is I am asking is our system sort of inverted because look it is one of the most Byzantine processes on the face of the planet to try to get a loved one, a spouse or a fiancé into the United States if you are an American. I am here to tell you it is because I do it all the time. These days it is taking years; the system is not optimal and I have seen it optimal; it was optimal under Obama. Let's be clear, this isn't a partisan thing. It started having problems about the second year of Bush, excuse me at the end of the second year of Trump's term in office and Stephen Miller and him did a bunch of stuff that resulted in a lot of complication created within the Immigration System. I really haven't seen the present administration do all that much to roll any of that back. Then on top of it, we ended up with this delay as a result of COVID that I really, it's thawing but it is definitely not moving as quick as it once did.
So, I find it really ironic, but sadly ironic I guess that the legal Immigration System in the United States is sort of for lack of a better term, almost constipated and then meanwhile the illegal Immigration going on inbound into the United States, is flowing like a running river or something; it is really hard to watch and it is unfortunate but yeah, I don't think it is unfair to describe the present state of the American Immigration System as being sort of inverted.
