Government Fee Changes for the K3 Marriage Visa

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the K3 Visa and the fees associated with the application process associated with obtaining a K3 Visa.

For those who are unaware, we have made other videos on this channel. The K3 Visa is often times colloquially referred to as a US Marriage Visa although it is actually a supplemental visa category which is filed after the initial filing for an Immigrant Spouse Visa. It is basically an addendum process if you will that occurs after the filing for an Immigrant Spouse Visa.

It recently came to my attention from the Federal register and from various news outlets in the United States that they are going to be raising the fees associated with the underlying visa that must be filed for in order to subsequently file for a K3 Visa. The current filing fee for that category is US$535. The new proposed fee is US$555.

I suspect, at least it is my personal opinion that that proposal will be upheld and we are likely to see the US government filing fee associated with the underlying petition for a K3 or I should say a petition which underlies the supplemental petition for a K3, I think it's likely we are going to see the filing fee going up to $555 as opposed to $535 in the relatively near future. We will go ahead and make further videos if this should change on this channel.
