Will TM30 Issues Get Worse In 2024?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the TM30, not a topic anybody really loves to talk about it. I would argue even, I don't know which one foreign nationals especially Non-Immigrant Visa holders dislike more, the TM30 or the 90-day report, but depending on who you talk to, it is probably going to vary a little bit; my opinion is the TM30. I view it as rather redundant. I think that there are better ways to deal with that issue. Look I get it, it's in the law. It is in the 1979 Immigration Act that there has to be this check-in function associated with foreigners’ addresses here in Thailand. I totally get that. That makes sense to me but I think that there may be other ways to implement it. One thing we have noticed especially coming off the fourth quarter in Thailand here in 2023, we have noticed that the TM30 was used more in earnest associated with things like Visa Extension, 90-day reporting. It has kind of become a prerequisite again. It fell by the wayside a little bit. You had to file them but it wasn't something that you had to deal with for every little thing.
I think going into 2024, yeah TM30 is just going to be something you are going to have to deal with and it is probably going to be something that is probably going to annoy you to a certain extent. I can tell you the girls here in the office that deal with processing visas here in our office, they have to deal with TM30 on a frequent basis and believe me when I tell you they probably would rather pull their hair out than deal with TM30, but it is just something we have to deal with.
Going into 2024, I think it's just going to be one of those things; it is just going to be, it is what it is.
