Will There Be A Quota On Thailand Elite Visas?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are posing the question: "Could the new rollout of the new Thailand Elite Visa Program come with a quota on Thailand Elite Visas?" Now I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Thailand Elite cancels Visa change at the last minute. Now we have discussed this in great detail; we started talking about it when Thailand Elite came out themselves and said "hey we are canceling the old programs, we are bringing the new programs online." I have done a number of videos on that, I urge those who are watching this video, maybe go check out the rest of our channel, maybe go to the search function, type in Thailand Elite, or Thai Elite, either one or Elite Visa, whatever and you will find a number of videos I have done discussing Thailand Elite over the years but here recently in the past few weeks, discussing the fact that they are changing the terms and conditions associated with Thailand Elite moving forward. Present deadline is September 15th under old terms, then we are rolling over between September 15th and October here in 2023 over to a new set of terms associated with the Thailand Elite Visa and presumably moving forward from there, at least for the foreseeable and even unforeseeable future, we will be dealing with these new terms.

That said, when I was reading this recent article again in the Pattaya Mail, pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Thailand Elite cancels Visa change at the last minute, it brought into my mind the question of the possibility in the future of there being caps or quotas on the number of Thailand Elite Visas. I thought of that when reading the following, and I quote: "It is widely assumed that Elite Visas which allow for stays between 5 and 20 years with or without family members will then be fewer in number and more expensive to buy. Social media rumors suggest that the five-year option will jump from 600,000 Baht to 1 million plus and the cheapest 20 years visa from 1 million Baht to 5 million." Interesting insight there regarding pricing, but something I thought of again, quoting directly: "Will then be fewer in number." Now the question is there's a number of categories of Elite Visa right now, so does that mean, and again this is all just speculation so take it for what it's worth, but perhaps we could see a situation where there are fewer visas issued per year. There's not just sort of an infinite number of Thailand Elite Visas that can be issued. They may put a quota on the number of them that can be issued. That would be similar to Thai Permanent Residence; Thai Permanent Residence as we have discussed in many other videos, has a quota or a cap if you will based on nationality; only 100 applicants per nationality per year can apply for Permanent Residence in Thailand. So this isn't unprecedented, it's not unheard of in the Immigration system.

Now I think what was meant in the article was that we could see a consolidation of the categories of Thailand Elite Visas. Presently there is a number of different ways to enter the Thailand Elite Program and maybe they consolidate it down to maybe a half dozen, maybe even three or four categories one can use or membership programs which provide Thailand Elite Visa status. But at the same time it just got me thinking when I was reading that I said you know quotas are not unheard of in the Thai Immigration System, so could we be seeing a cap or a quota placed on the number of Thailand Elite Visas that can be issued at any one time.
