What I See for Thai Immigration in 2023

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing, well we are discussing just sort of my thoughts on what I think Thai Immigration is going to look like in 2023.

Well anything is better than what we have dealt with in the past couple of years so we are not back in 2020 when we were dealing with Certificate of Entry, thank God and even the Thailand Pass which was supposedly an improvement wasn't much of an improvement but okay better than nothing. Then we have been done with it going on about 6 months now. Again, anything is better than dealing with that so if 2023 is just a repeat of 2019 in terms of Thai Immigration, I think overall we can chalk that up to just an overall win.

Now that said, there are things that are evolved, there are developments in Thai Immigration that we have noted in other videos here recently. I think these trends are going to continue to one degree or another. What am I talking about here? Well for example we have seen heightened scrutiny on certain aspects of the Retirement Visa financials process; I think that is probably going to continue into 2023. We are seeing heightened scrutiny associated with Thai Business Visas; again I think that is going to continue into 2023 as well. We have seen not just scrutiny but a total lockdown if you want to call that of all the Education Visas, all of that category is effectively not being utilized at the moment: we have done videos on that already. Volunteer Visas are under heavy scrutiny to the point where I truly question if we will ever see them as a viable option again. As we have noted in other videos, Thai Immigration Officials have stated that they are getting together to study things like Volunteer Visas, Education Visas and other long-term visas that foreigners use to stay in Thailand. They are going to be studying the ways in which foreign nationals try to defraud the Thai Immigration system. I would expect that to yield results some time in 2023 and I suspect those results will probably be more scrutiny or more "crackdown/clampdown" if you want to call it that of Thai Immigration matters. So again do I think things are going to get harder in ‘23? Not necessarily, but I definitely don't think things are going to get any easier going into 2023 when dealing with Thai Immigration matters.
