Vaccines Required for O-A Retirement Visas?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing vaccinations as a requirement associated with O-A Retirement Visas. I have been getting questions on this a lot lately. We have done an iteration of this video in the past, the relatively recent past, but I thought based on all the correspondence I have gotten on this topic, it is probably a good idea to go ahead and make this video.
So, could a vaccine be required to extend or obtain an O-A Retirement Visa in Thailand or for Thailand? In theory yes it could. Is it currently now? No, it is not. Will it be? I find it doubtful in the relatively foreseeable future. By that I mean the upcoming months going into the next year, 2022, do I think that it is going to become a requirement? I find it doubtful but it is possible; now especially with respect to extensions, and I want to be clear, I am not talking about O Retirement Visas. I am making a video contemporaneously with this one where I discuss that specifically. This is O-A. If I was analyzing and comparing the two categories, O-A Retirement Visa versus O Retirement Visa, the odds maker in me would say although it is very unlikely under either scenario I think it is more likely that the O-A could see the requirement than the O. The reason for this is we have recently seen major policy changes with respect to the requirements associated with the O-A not least of which being the insurance requirements associated with the O-A Retirement Visa.
Breathe easy for now everybody, for those folks that are really worried about this. I know that there are a lot of folks out there that are very worried about this for various reasons and I just don't think this is going to be a major concern in the immediately foreseeable future.
