Update: TM30 and Thai Visa Extensions

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing TM30 and Thai Visa Extensions. I thought of making this video after reading a recent comment on our channel, quoting directly: "Thanks Ben, what about TM30 for Visa extension? Can you do a video on that?" I thought I had done a video on this. Well I did a lot of them back when TM30 was a major issue because yeah TM30 forms are generally required as part of the package associated with Visa Extension here in the Kingdom of Thailand. So when you are processing your application for your extension, your extension of status, so let's say you have an O Retirement Visa or a Business Visa and you need to extend that Non-Immigrant status, they are going to ask for a whole plethora of documents. One of the things they may ask for especially if you have changed addresses this is especially the case, is they will want to see if you have done a TM30 to update that address; to go ahead and update the fact that you have a new address. TM30, they may actually sometimes want to see it associated with an original address although if you have done multiple extensions then our experience that they don't so much necessarily want to see that. That said, Immigration Officers are vested with discretion; if they want to see something they can pretty well ask for it.

But yeah, TM30, you have got to go ahead and do your TM30 and yes it does have implications for the Thai Visa Extension because you are going to have to show it especially if an address change has occurred, you are going to have to show it in association or I should say included in the petition for extension of status here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
