Tourism Returns "Spectacularly" to Thailand?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video so just, we are discussing tourism, and the return of tourism to Thailand. I thought of making this video after reading a recent article in the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Thai Baht gaining against the UK Pound again. This was a really interesting article. The excerpt I am going to quote really doesn't get to the thrust of the article. For those who are interested, it is an article worth reading, I urge you to go over to Pattaya Mail, to that website to check out that article in detail, but I am going to quote a quick except here: "Meanwhile, the Thai Baht is not at the center of world financial attention, but has some positive news to back the currency. International tourism to Thailand has rebounded spectacularly with access through both air and land borders having improved greatly." Yeah good point. I think that is well said; I think that's very accurate.
We have seen in the past couple of months since Thailand has kind of fully reopened, we have seen a scenario play out wherein we are seeing the tourists back and the numbers are coming back starting to rebound, certainly not what it was quarter 1 of 2020 moving backwards but we are getting there. And I think the progress, everybody should kind of pat themselves on the back, we have been getting through this, it has been some hard going but we are now kind of finally starting to see some light with respect to tourism. As I have said in another video I made concurrently with this one, APEC Summit is coming up. That apparently may slow down things a little bit in terms of entry and exit but then after that, it's smooth sailing into high season. I really hope folks that I watching this outside of Thailand, I hope you really take a long hard look at coming to Thailand. A lot of great stuff is happening here. Quite honestly, prices in the tourism sector are kind of a bargain once you are here; places to stay are pretty reasonably priced; a lot of interesting developments here in Thailand that may attract new types of tourist to Thailand. To my mind “spectacular“ is a pretty good word and I definitely am going to enjoy watching as we progress through the high season and hopefully see this thing turn around going into 2023.
