TM30 Issues With More Travelers In Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the TM30. For those who unaware, this is an address reporting form that is pretty ubiquitous for travelers here in Thailand. Tourists generally don't need to overly worry about the TM30, it will probably be done on their behalf by their hotel, but expats, presumptive expats who are looking to come to Thailand to live long-term, TM30 is something to bear in mind, you have got to do an address reporting.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: My take on Pattaya September 2023: Walking Street so quiet. Quoting a small excerpt, I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article in detail, a lot of good information there. Quoting directly: "Whether the Chinese will get 30 days rather than the current 15 and how they will cope with the dreaded TM30 address bureaucracy should keep everyone busy until Christmas. Next year."

So the point sort of indirectly being made here is if there is a large influx of travelers to Thailand, for example a large influx of possible expats even, could that sort of overload the bureaucracy here in Thailand? Could we see for example the TM30 system get sort of overloaded as a result of numbers? Point of fact, I am not worried about this most notably because we had substantially higher numbers associated with tourists and even presumptive expats or prospective expats, folks coming in to look at probably living in Thailand, we saw a huge numbers of those folks in 2019 compared to now here in 2023 and quite honestly the system did fine. It had no problem absorbing the number of TM30s associated with that.

So do I think that we are going to see like a massive overload of the TM30 system for example if a bunch of Chinese Tourists come in, in this coming high season or any other nationality, Indians or Middle Eastern folks? Again we have done videos on this. Thailand Tourism Authorities seem to be courting folks from the Middle East as well, but let's say we are wildly successful in this coming high season, and tourism really, really spikes, would that have a detrimental impact on the bureaucracy associated with the TM30? I think from past experience we can say that is pretty unlikely.
