Thailand Travel: What Does It Mean to Be "Fully Vaccinated"?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing vaccination in the context of travel rules to Thailand. We have been talking a lot about the rollback, reinstitution of the Test and Go, the rollback of a number of measures associated with getting into Thailand but one issue that people, I don't think we have put too fine a point on in the past few months is and I have gotten correspondence from folks who have asked questions about this, they basically said “Well, what if I am unvaccinated? What is the definition of “fully vaccinated”? I thought it was kind of fortuitous, I got a number of correspondences from folks about that topic and I happened to be reading this article at the same time. The article is titled: Government announces new entry regulations. This is from Thai Enquirer, thaienquirer.com. Quoting directly: "The "Test and Go" program is only for fully vaccinated Thai citizens and foreign travelers. Fully vaccinated means you have received at least two doses of Covid-19 vaccines that were approved by Thailand's Food and Drug Administration or the World Health Organization."
So there it is. I think that is about succinct as it gets as far as what is the definition of vaccinated. It is somebody that has had at least two doses of the vaccine that were approved by Thailand's Food and Drug Administration or the World Health Organization. So folks that meet those criteria are going to be able to avail themselves of the "Test and Go" program and be able to come into Thailand presently in the more truncated entry process that is currently allowed compared to a couple of weeks ago and definitely compared to a couple of months ago.
Now there is more and more talk that we are going to see this thing be considered endemic and then we are going to hopefully put all of this behind us. So we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
