As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the possibility of a Thailand-Singapore "Travel Bubble". Now this is like Groundhog Day, that movie with Bill Murray for me. It has been like 9 months that I have been talking about "travel bubbles" and they really haven't happened. That is the other thing. But the government seems to keep talking about them so if they are talking about them I am going to make videos on them because it could have an impact on travel capability for those looking to come into Thailand. 

In a recent article from the Nation, that is nationthailand.com, the article is titled: Thailand to Explore "Travel Bubble" with Singapore. Quoting directly: "The Ministry of Tourism and Sports aims to discuss with Singapore a "Travel Bubble" between the two countries. Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Ratchakitprakarn said that the discussions would take place within this week with the Embassy of Singapore."

So we have heard this discussed. This was discussed as "green lanes", "travel bubbles", it has been going on almost a year in fact that they were talking about this and Singapore seems to be the main destination Thailand is trying to hook up with. Why, I do not know. Probably because they know that there is a lot tighter control down there. The other thing is will we actually see this come to fruition? A very good question. We have been talking about this, they talked about it a lot last summer and then it was totally put on ice. Now they are talking about it again. With vaccinations coming online and they are lightning up on some of the quarantine stuff, yeah I think it is possible. When exactly? I would not expect it much sooner than probably at least the second half of the year, possibly into the fourth quarter. That being said, I could be wrong. It could happen sooner rather than that but I think at best probably October is about the best you are probably going to be looking at. So it is possible. We may see it soon but we will keep you updated as the situation progresses.
