Thai Social Security Problems Due To Terrible "Foreign Lawyers"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing so-called foreign lawyers which I have kind of been on a tear on this topic recently because quite honestly I have been just hearing horror stories from a bunch of different folks that have contacted us either after talking to somebody claiming to have some sort of expertise, claiming to be a lawyer here in Thailand, claiming that they talked to somebody who told them this, that or the other thing which was a totally erroneous or even worse they got into real problems. As I discussed in a prior video, we dealt to people who almost got blacklisted because they put themselves on a Visa at the advice of someone who basically put them into a situation where they were in an overstay or going to go into overstay or going to go into Blacklist or in a occupation that was restricted and they were told "oh, it's no problem" and then the next thing you know they get inspected and now they are up a creek.

Social Security is an aspect of this. Apparently a lot of these what I would call just kind of "bucket shop", fake lawyers, fake law firms, whatever, have set people up into these structures wherein they get everything at the outset, they sort out all of the compliance issues, one of them being Social Security - although there are many other things associated with getting work authorized and getting a Visa here in Thailand - and then they just let it all just go, they just let it go to pot. That may work for a minute but eventually if you let things languish, especially with ongoing tax compliance, for example yearly tax filings, you could end up with a criminal warrant filed against the company and the directors associated therewith. Real problems can arise as a result of not being assiduous in maintaining Corporate filings, Corporate documentation, Corporate compliance and quite honestly again a lot of what I can only describe as fake foreign lawyers or just totally fake outfits are unfortunately engaged in a lot of things especially in the aftermath of coming off of COVID and I get it, people want to drum up business, it's totally understandable but they are also putting people into, especially foreign nationals into a really bad position and it is resulting in real harm to people that are just trying to set up a business and deal with things on the up and up and they are not made aware that they need to have ongoing compliance or sometimes it may be the fault of the foreign national, the person that is getting involved in this who doesn't want to pay their taxes, doesn't want to pay their ongoing contributions; that's a problem in and of itself. If you don't deal with this stuff you can have real issues. Again it can lead to arrest, it can lead to deportation, it can lead to a situation where you are blacklisted from returning to the Kingdom of Thailand.
