Thai O Marriage Visas: Home Photos

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing photos of a couple's home in connection with a Thai O Marriage Visa application or I specifically should say a Thai O extension application here in Thailand and that O extension is predicated upon a marriage between a Thai National and a foreign national residing here in the Kingdom.

We have done some other videos with respect to office photos associated with Business Visa extensions as well as Work Permit applications here in Thailand. This video is somewhat similar but it is occurring in the context of a Marriage Visa as opposed to a Business Visa

What are we talking about here? For those who are unaware, oftentimes Immigration Officers will want to see photos of the couple's residence and the detail of such photos often depends on the prerogatives of the Officers at a given Provincial Administration Office. Here in Chaengwattana, here in Bangkok, we are dealing with Immigration Officers, they generally want to see photos of the couple's homestead and it is not overly detailed. They usually want to see them out front, their address, and some photos inside. To some extent, I have said this with respect to B Visa extension office photos, there is an element of this which is somewhat staged insofar as people don't generally take photos of themselves outside their house for no reason and these photos to some extent really are staged because they are done for the purpose of obtaining an O Marriage Visa extension. That being stated, they are not contrived; they should not be fake. It needs to be photos of an actual homestead where the couple is residing and we have seen instances where Immigration has sent inspectors around to the home at issue in order to verify that the photos for lack a better term match what the folks are actually living in. They also want to make sure that it is not sort of a contrivance that they haven't just basically created the pretense of living together. Now I think the reason for that is because they have had issues of sham marriages associated with O Visa extensions here in Thailand especially in recent months, and for this reason we are seeing some added scrutiny associated with these photos.

So, the thing to take away from this video is if you are looking for an O Marriage Visa extension, it is very likely you are going to have to provide photographic evidence of one's homestead with one's Thai Spouse and it is also possible that that homestead may be inspected to ensure that the photos match with the reality of the given couple's situation.
