Thai "Immigration Bureau's Information Technology Center"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Immigration Bureau's Information Technology Centre, and I had to read that real quick because yet again, not unlike PIBICS and the APPS system that we have discussed in prior videos, this seems to be something of at least to my knowledge, kind of a newly revealed institution within the Immigration apparatus that is associated with tracking and facilitating Immigration Law enforcement endeavours here in the Kingdom.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Phuket News, that's thephuketnews.com, the article is titled: More than 1,000 foreigners in Phuket caught for visa overstay. I urge those who are watching this video, it is probably a good idea to go ahead and check out that article in detail on thephuketnews.com, because there is a lot of good insight and information in there. But I thought this was specifically relevant to this video and we will do the analysis here in a moment. Quoting directly: "The implementation of a new database played a crucial role in the success of this initiative," (the initiative being as the title noted, "more than 1,000 foreigners in Phuket caught for overstay"). Quoting again: "The implementation of a new database played a crucial role in the success of this initiative, allowing the Police to track down a missing foreigner recently, Col Thanet explained." Quoting further: "According to the Immigration Bureau's Information Technology Centre," (I hadn't heard of that until I read this) "a total of 1,050 foreigners were found to have overstayed their visas. Among them, 391 individuals were not staying at their reported accommodations, and 228 had already departed Thailand" Again, as we have discussed in other videos, the technological prowess of Thai Immigration has been improving over the past couple of years now. When you get into biometrics for example, that was brought online, that changed the game especially at Immigration checkpoints on the borders of Thailand. Then now we are also seeing as this technology improves there are also ramifications associated with those who are in Thailand. And as we will get into in another video made contemporaneously with this one, they are using these data analytics technologies, the ability to really comb through their data now because it is all digitized to really improve their law enforcement capabilities, to really ferret out if you will folks who are in Thailand illegally, folks who are overstaying. Again as noted in the quotation, "folks who are not staying in the accommodation noted in their Immigration documentation", all of this stuff is having a tremendous practical effect on foreign nationals who are in Thailand.

So again, for those who are watching this video, the one big thing to take away from this is look, their technological prowess is improving and as this happens, it becomes more and more imperative to maintain lawful status in the Kingdom of Thailand assiduously because failure to do so could result in not only deportation but possible blacklisting from the Kingdom of Thailand.
