The question posed by this video is will there be changes to the Thai Business Visa process in 2025? The short answer is it doesn't look like it but as with everything - I'm talking about this in December of 2024 - oftentimes when we do see major changes to the Immigration process, we usually see them come into effect in the first month of an incoming year, so we will be keeping people updated. 

Now that being said, one thing I do think is notable going forward is we are probably not going to see nearly the volume of Business Visa applications that we have seen in the past for a variety of different reasons. There are new Visa categories out there and there is also less demand seemingly for people wanting to actually work in Thailand, and there's a big difference between working in Thailand versus possibly working remotely. As we have discussed in other videos, there's some gray area there, but I think moving forward, it is safe to presume we will probably see a lower volume of Business Visa applications. 

Meanwhile, do I foresee any major changes to the process? Well again, it's constantly evolving so they may add something here or there. I think the biggest change we are likely to see in 2025 though is the lack of volume of the application. So will that cause processing to speed up? Unlikely because of the nature of the way in which B Visas are extended where you have to go in, request the extension, get a one-month extension, be under review and then finally get the rest of the extension. I don't see that protocol going anywhere anytime soon; even digitization is unlikely to have an impact on that. How exactly this plays out remains to be seen. This along with other Non-Immigrant Visas - especially as we start seeing the rollout of the Thai Immigration System as well as the Electronic Travel Authorization - exactly how Non-Immigrant Visas like the Business Visa play into that remain to be seen but we will certainly keep you updated on this channel as that situation evolves.
