Which Thai Visa Provides the Most Options?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Thai Visas which provide the most "options".

And by “options”, what are we talking about? Well first of all it depends what you describe as options. What do you want? Do you want to come to Thailand to retire and just stay here? Well that is a Retirement Visa. That has certain restrictions. It is not work authorized for example. Do you want to come to Thailand to work? Well that is a Business Visa and although it does not have the inherent work authorization that one needs in order to work in Thailand, it does provide a platform for seeking a Thai Work Permit. The same could be said for a Thai Marriage Visa. If that Visa is applicable to you, you may be able to use that as a platform also to apply for a Thai Work Permit. The Thailand Elite Visa provides a great many options with respect to long stay here in the Kingdom. It provides very much a much more extended long-term stay experience. Compared to one year renewable visas it is issued in five year increments. That stated, it is also not work authorized so it may not provide the option one wants with respect to working in Thailand.

So there are different types of Thai Visas that provide different types of options. I will say that things like the now currently suspended Thai Visa exemption stamps, the so-called 30-day stamps or Thai Tourist Visas, they provide the least amount of long-term options and work authorization options but for tourists, they fit the bill perfectly. So depending on what you are looking for or what your needs are, that will dictate the Visa and the options that you will need to pursue in association therewith.
