As the title of this video suggests, we are talking about the "prioritization" of Thai Work Permit holders. What are we talking about here? Well if you go back into the dark days of the lockdown here in Thailand, go back into 2020 specifically April, May, June of 2020, when Thailand did a full-on knockdown, drag-out lockdown. Nobody was coming and going for about 2 months, about 6-8 weeks. Then it kind of pried opened a little bit where you saw Thai Nationals could be able to come back in, Permanent Residents and notably Work Permit holders. This is something that I would urge any prospective expat to keep a keen eye on. This is something you need to be aware of. Those who held Work Permits were allowed into Thailand pretty shortly after the rather Draconian lockdown measures came down. So there was a major interval of time between the time Work Permit holders were allowed in compared to foreign family members of Thai nationals and then compare it even further to Retirees. So Work Permit holders foreign Nationals who held a Thai Work Permit were prioritized quite highly when things were frankly at their worst in terms of the lockdown regime that was imposed at that time. 

Where does that take us now? Well one if we ever see this come down in the future you know or you can least be reasonably certain that if you are holding a Work Permit you are probably going to be allowed in with some degree of priority. The other thing to bear in mind is if you are living and working in Thailand obviously it is a good document to have but I think it is indicative of the level of trust you can put in for lack of a better word, into that travel document as opposed to some other kind of travel document. If you are maintaining a Work Permit it is a pretty safe bet you are going to be able to get in Thailand as early as anybody can.
