PCR Testing Protocol for 14 Day Quarantine in Thailand

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the PCR testing protocols associated with 14-day quarantine here in the Kingdom of Thailand.

For those who are unaware, 14-day quarantine has been the standard quarantine we have been dealing with since the summer of 2020 when Thailand began reopening for entry of foreign nationals coming into the country. To quote directly from tatnews.org, now this is the news site of the Tourism Authority of Thailand, quoting directly: "For a 14-day quarantine, 3 tests are required: on the day of arrival, days 6 through 7 and days 12 through 13." Let me reiterate that. "For a 14-day quarantine, 3 tests are required: on the day of arrival, days six through 7 and days 12 through 13."

So there is more testing associated with these 14-day quarantiners presumably because they seem to be presumptively, in the eyes of the Immigration and Health Authorities, coming from “high risk countries” and require more time at quarantine and more stringent testing and then they will be allowed out into the public thereafter if they test negative throughout. Again if they test positive, they may have to be in quarantine for longer.

So the thing to take away from this video is there are differences. 7-Day quarantine has different PCR testing protocol from 10-day quarantine which has different protocols from 14 day quarantine. So, there are many variables associated with this. We will keep you updated on this channel as the situation progresses.
