As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the notion of paying out of your own pocket for quarantine in Thailand. As anybody would know you are going to be doing that regardless coming into Thailand. You have to make arrangements for an SHA certified Hotel this was once called an ASQ hotel; all these acronyms seem to change all the time but it is basically a quarantine hotel. 

A recent article got me thinking about making this video. It is from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: "Test and Go" to resume Feb 1 with extra test requirement. This is good news overall. We have discussed this already. "Test and Go" came online in November and it was great, it was good for everybody. Then it basically was suspended December 21 much to everyone's chagrin it seemed like. This article is about we are bringing it back online. We are here at the end of January, it is going to come back online February 1. There are all these issues associated with coming in but I saw this excerpt and I thought it was relevant to this video. Quoting directly: "Visitors are also reminded that if their health insurance policies do not adequately cover the cost of COVID-19 treatment at a hospital, they will have to meet any added cost from their own pocket."

So yeah, something to kind of bear in mind; if you come in and you inadvertently get pulled into quarantine because you test positive, you are going to have to bear the cost of that. That is not really something I think people love to hear and quite frankly I have my issues with it on a personal level but that is for another video. The thing to keep in mind is just be aware, make sure you are tested up and hopefully this won't be a problem for most folks.
