As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Work Permits. For those who are unaware, foreign nationals coming into Thailand looking to work, must receive some form of work authorization in order to legally do so.

The question posed by this video is do I foresee the Work Permit process changing greatly in 2024? No, I really don't, although as we have discussed in other videos, they have created new visas with inherent work authorization. Now how exactly that factors into later considerations like folks that are maybe going for longer term status here in Thailand, I don't exactly know how that sort of work authorization factors into all of that, mostly because we haven't gotten there yet. We haven't been dealing with anybody that has been here long enough to go ahead and raise that question.

But the question posed by this video is Work Permits in 2024, the process, will it change greatly? I don't really see it changing all that much. Again and this is something really, foreigners really need to keep in mind, foreign nationals must be basically licensed to work in Thailand; they must obtain a Work Permit in order to work legally in Thailand. One thing I do see changing going into 2024 that we saw some inklings of here in 2023, is the enforcement apparatus especially noticeable down in Phuket regarding folks that are working illegally in Thailand, especially in restricted occupations, that enforcement activity has increased greatly and I suspect we will see further increases of enforcement going into 2024. So, if you are looking to come to Thailand to work, it's a very, very good idea to make sure you are work authorized.
