Not Allowed to Return to Thailand on a Border Run?
Transcript of the above video:
As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Border Runs. I thought of making this video after reading a recent comment from our channel and just quoting directly: "I just saw someone posting in a Facebook group a few days ago about how he was stuck in Poi Phet. I think he was trying to do a Border Run from Thailand to Cambodia and back, last day of his authorized stay in Thailand but the Thais refused to let him back in. I don't remember exactly why. He might have said it was because he didn't have proof of a flight ticket out of Thailand."
Yeah we discussed this in a number of videos in the past few weeks. Thai Immigration at the border is not what it once was. It used to be so long as you could get there, they would sort of stamp you out, stamp you back in. As we noted in other videos, Thai Immigration at the border is actually telling people, "look if you want to be able to step out and step back in, you need to deal with some kind of agency or service that provides Border Run services because we need to preemptively check your documentation before coming to the border and deal with all that before getting there."
Again I wonder if it doesn't have anything to do with implementation of the APPS and PBIC systems which we have discussed at length in other videos but the thing to take away from this video, I think at least for now and I would say this is probably pretty good recommendation going out of this year is if you are going to do a border run make arrangements before leaving. Make arrangements with some sort of agency or service rather than just trying to do this one on your own because at the present time, again things are in kind of still a state of flux, at the present time it's not going to be the most straightforward thing to just do a standard Border Run. So take that for what you will but that's where I think things stand at least as of now. We will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
