New Thailand Elite Visas Still Not Work Authorized?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing what has been referred to as the Thailand Elite Visa which apparently moving forward that name is being changed. Apparently people are calling it or the institution is calling it the Thailand Privilege Visa. Again bear with me on this one while this all shakes out because we are kind of in a state of flux here. Hopefully my sort of terminology will get kind of normalized in the next couple of weeks but for now I am going to kind of refer to Thailand Elite, Thailand Privilege Visa sort of interchangeably.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com. As usual, I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article in detail. I am going to quote a small excerpt here. Quoting directly: Brand new Elite privilege card options begin soon. Quoting directly: "It is also noteworthy that Thailand Privilege in its latest publicity emphasizes that Elite visas do not carry the right to work in Thailand." Yeah, as we have discussed in other videos, in the past Thailand Elite Visas did not have work authorization. It appears, and again bear with me as this is all shaking out, but it also appears that moving forward, Thailand Elite Visas will not be work authorized into the future so it looks like it will remain sort of the status quo if you will that Thailand Elite Visas do not inherently carry work authorization so that is a big difference to keep in mind.

Again it can be a very useful Visa if you wish to just come to Thailand and not be hassled and just stay here. It is not a Residence Visa per se but it does provide a great deal of long term status, up to 20 years, and that can be very beneficial for many who just wish to come to Thailand, make it a sort of second home or a vacation home. Thailand Elite Visas, what may be called the Thailand Privilege Visa moving forward, all of this entire scheme if you will, this entire program can be very beneficial for those who just wish to enjoy Thailand. They don't necessarily want to come here to work, they just simply want to come here to live, relax, retire for example; it's very good Retirement Visa. It can be very beneficial for folks wishing to do that. But bear in mind and to repeat from prior videos, no they are not work authorized and it does not appear at least as of the time of this video and I will happily stand corrected and make another video if this changes, it does not appear that moving forward Thailand Elite visas will be work authorized as well.
