As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing well specifically, we are discussing Thai Visa extensions, the protocols associated therewith. Now in this video specifically, we are discussing Pattaya Immigration. There have been some changes down to Pattaya Immigration and as a large number, I would say a large proportion of the audience of this channel is actually in Pattaya, I thought it was probably a good idea to maybe make this video.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Pattaya-Jomtien Immigration Bureau launches new service. So some background here, and I urge those who are watching this video go check out that article in detail. But yeah, Immigration in Pattaya has upgraded, physically upgraded their physical plant if you will, their facility place. This I think is very much a boon to expats and tourists who need to use that office because in the past, the facility was quite small and it oftentimes resulted in people having to wait around outside in the hot sun. I remember during COVID that was a really problematic situation that people were having to sit around for long periods of time outside, spaced now and it was a real problem. Now COVID was its own temporary madness if you want to call it that, but that said the facilities themselves have been dramatically improved. I have actually watched the progress on that personally over time, the past few months down in Jomtien so I have seen it for myself. 

I thought of making this video after reading recent article again from Pattaya Mail, pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Pattaya-Jomtien Immigration Bureau launches new service. Quoting directly: "All other Immigration customers first of all now report to Building "B" to obtain a ticket number for further service. Depending on the specific service they need, the ticket number will direct them to the Immigration main building (all Visa Extensions for example) or to building "A" (for TM30 address registration). 

So again, I think what is important here is for those who have been doing their extensions at the Pattaya Immigration Office with some regularity lo these past few years, things have changed a little bit. So, if you are looking at doing your extension in the future or dealing with Thai Immigration generally in Jomtien, it looks like we are seeing new protocols associated with getting those functions completed. 

So it's interesting to see. I think it is definitely a benefit for folks who do have to go wait around for any kind of prolonged period of time at Immigration because at least now, it appears that they will be able to do so in air condition facilities. But that said, yeah it is a change to the overall protocol; we felt that it was warranted to bring it up on this channel and we will certainly keep you updated on this situation as it evolves.
