As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing quarantine in Thailand and factors that can lead to quarantine in Thailand. 

In a recent article from Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: Government Considering 21-day Quarantine for Returnees from Africa. Quoting directly: "The Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration is considering a longer mandatory quarantine for returnees from Africa in a bid to stem the fast spreading variant of the novel Coronavirus that was first detected in South Africa. The South African variant named “B1351” requires closer monitoring as it is known to spread more quickly which could worsen the outbreak in Thailand, said the CCSA'S assistant spokesperson Apisamai Srirangson." Clearly there are concerns at a public health level. I thought this was notable because it could have a tremendous impact on quarantine procedures and protocols associated with inbound travel. As of now I have yet to see anything that specifically is talking about this in the context of any other continent other than Africa. For the time being it appears that this is only being discussed with respect to possible travelers coming in from countries in Africa, specifically actually South Africa, although I have seen some other things in some other publications when we were researching for this video that were just talking about Africa generally or regions of Africa where this may be an issue. 

So exactly how this is going to play out remains to be seen but I wanted to go ahead and make this video, not really to, I am not trying to like frighten anybody or cause any kind of consternation but yeah you know this stuff has changed on a dime. I never would have thought we would see some of the stuff we are dealing with now, a year ago and it happened very, very quickly. So when I when I see things like this I try to you know look at it, I do try to take a breath do some analysis on it before we just go ahead and make a video but I wanted to go ahead and make a video and mention this just to have it in the back of your mind, especially those who may be traveling in and out of Africa or have some plans. Something to keep in the back of your mind that you might end up with a 21 day quarantine should the overall situation evolve in a certain way.
