May 1st to See the End of Thailand Pass?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing the Thailand Pass. I got to think of this reading an NNT article that was brought my attention via ASEAN NOW, aseannow.com, the article is titled: CCSA to consider proposal to suspend "Test & Go" and Thailand Pass. Quoting directly: "A proposal to suspend the Test & Go scheme and Thailand Pass registration will be submitted to the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) after the Songkran holidays to boost the tourism industry. Tourism and Sports Minister Phiphat Rathchakitprakarn stated that the proposal will be presented at the CCSA meeting on April 22. If approved, the changes will most likely be affected on May 1."

So definitely some overall good news with respect to hopefully seeing the end of the Thailand Pass and I think anybody that has dealt with it or dealt with its precursor the Certificate of Entry, will probably be jumping for joy at the news that this is falling by the wayside and we are hopefully not going to have to deal with this anymore. Again it remains to be seen and even if it does occur it looks like May 1 would be the earliest that we would see the repeal of this present travel program. But interesting, very interesting that this is happening. I definitely think it is a good thing.

Again I hope we are now at least entering the vector of the light that is shining through the end of this tunnel. I hope that light is kind of we may not be out of the tunnel but we are now kind of in the light at the end. Hopefully come June at the latest July, when they say that they are going to declare this whole thing endemic and hopefully we can move on, I don't really understand why we need to wait for that but okay that's what we are doing. Hopefully we can put basically the majority of this behind us.

As stated, this is simply a proposal. It has not actually been formally tabled and it has not even been discussed or a final decision made. So we will definitely keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
