As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Tourist Visas. We are discussing them specifically in the context of hypothecating or hypothesizing about the end of the Emergency Decree. 

For those who are unaware, back in March of 2020 in response to the pandemic situation, the Thai Health Ministry, the Thai Government enacted an Emergency Decree which came into force I believe on March 26, 2020 and has been operating thereafter until at least the time of this video. Under the provisions of that Decree, things like for example Certificates of Entry were created which is another document on top of even a visa to be able to travel into Thailand. It is sort of an entry pre-authorization system or as I have often times compared it to in the American System, it is similar to ESTA, the Electronic System for Travel Authorization which is again, it is like a pre-clearance before one is allowed to travel, in this case to Thailand, even if you have a Visa. That system, that COE system, came about, it was promulgated as a result of the Emergency Decree. Presently, if the Emergency Decree were to be rescinded presumably the Certificate of Entry system would fall away as well and I think it is safe to presume that that would in fact be the case that the Certificate of Entry system would fall away with  any rescission of the of the Emergency Decree here in Thailand. 

Now all of this is speculation. Rules could change, we could see that happen in the interim between now and the presumptive end of the Emergency Decree. Exactly how and under what circumstances that could happen remain to be seen. We will certainly keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
