As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing O Marriage Visas and the implications associated with O Marriage Visas if the Emergency Decree were to end. What are we talking about with the Emergency Decree? 

For those unaware, Thailand promulgated an Emergency Decree in March of 2020 in response to the pandemic. The result of that was that at least presumably temporarily, certain aspects of the Immigration regime changed. One big addition for O Marriage Visa holders is the creation of the Certificate of Entry and the requirement of certain basic COVID insurance for those looking to travel into Thailand on an O Marriage Visa; an O Visa based on marriage to a Thai. 

Now where does that leave us right now? Well that is what we are dealing with presently. Those who want to come to Thailand have to deal with the Certificate of Entry, they have to deal with certain insurance requirements. What were to happen if the Emergency Decree were to just end? Well presuming they don't change any rules in the meantime to make certain aspects of the Decree more permanent, if the Emergency Decree were to just end essentially the rules would snap back to what they were in the first quarter of 2020. So, those coming to Thailand on an O Marriage Visa, you wouldn’t need to deal with the Certificate of Entry, you wouldn't need to deal with certain COVID insurance; you can just get on a plane and come to Thailand using your O Marriage Visa. 

Again, we don't know exactly how this is going to play out but we will try to keep people updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
