I Have to Go to Thai Immigration in Person?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Immigration, specifically a question we get a lot from a lot of clients or prospective clients is: "do I really have to go to Thai Immigration in person?" Short answer is yes.

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com, the article is titled: 100 cops to be charged over illegal visas. Quoting directly: "Pol Gen Surachate", that is Surachate "Big Joke" Hakparn, quoting further: "Pol Gen Surachate said these policemen had forged signatures of provincial governors and permitted photo identification for visa applicants during the pandemic even though the law requires applicants to report in person." So again, a lot going on in that article. I have quoted this article fairly frequently over the past week or so because there is really a lot of important information for foreigners in there, foreign nationals here in Thailand, again, even though the law requires applicants to appear in person. So yes if you are looking to get for example a Thai Visa extension or change your Thai Visa, something of this nature, you are going to have to end up going in person at some point.

Now for example when we deal with Non-Immigrant Visas, extensions etc. in our office, yeah oftentimes we are able to front load a lot of things, get a lot done on people's behalf but at the end of the day, Immigration is going to want to see applicants in person at their office.
