How is Mandatory Insurance Reduced for Travel to Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

At the title of this video suggests, we are discussing insurance associated with inbound travel to Thailand. It now appears from TAT, that is tatnews.org, UPDATED! TEST & GO rules from March 1, 2022. Quoting directly: "The health insurance coverage has also been reduced to no less than $20,000." That is down from $50,000 in coverage that was required up until now. So it looks like this is dropping back.

There seems to be a lot of speculation out there in The Ether if you will amongst folks who are curious as to why this has happened. Some are citing the fact that Thailand may be trying to remain competitive with other tourism destinations here in Southeast Asia. I saw it also cited, I can't remember exactly where, that some physicians or folks in the Ministry of Public Health or policy makers whoever it was said that Omicron was a less virulent strain so as a result they dropped the insurance requirements down.

For whatever reason and who knows why, in the end it may be a mixture of that and more, those reasons and more, the current insurance requirements here in the Kingdom of Thailand have dropped from $50,000 down to $20,000 in coverage in order to travel inbound here to the Kingdom of Thailand.
