How Long Does It Take To Get A Work Permit On A New Thai Company?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are asking how long does it take to get a Work Permit issued after a Thai Company has been set up. As noted in other videos, we assist a number of clients in setting up SMEs here in Thailand, so basically getting them set up with a small corporation so that they can do business on their own here in Thailand. This is a highly optimal setup in my opinion because it allows for a path to Permanent Residence here in Thailand. It is also quite a bit cheaper than many of the other long-term Visa options and it is also in line with many folks who do not necessarily have the high-level financial resources of other types of visas to keep them here long term in Thailand. It also grants work authorization, by dint of the Work Permit but as I have discussed in other videos, it can also put you on track for Permanent Residence and even on track for citizenship; this is the methodology that I used to ultimately become a citizen over here.

So again, I think that this is a pretty proven method of dealing with things but how long does it usually take from company set up to Work Permit issuance? Again, it is going to depend on the specific facts in the underlying case. Generally speaking, weeks, not much, months, plural is probably too long, but exactly where the bright line is between saying weeks and months, hard to say. So again, it is going to depend greatly on the underlying facts in the case; on the perspective business activity. But again, for those who are sort of confused by all this, it may not be a terrible idea to contact a legal professional, gain some insight and guidance into how best to proceed.
