Has Thailand "Dismantled Its Own Remaining Visa Regulations"?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing "has Thailand dismantled its own Visa system?" I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Neighboring countries look to Thailand for Visa reform. That's a really good article; a lot of good information in there. I am going to quote a small excerpt but I urge those who are watching this video, go check out that article in detail: Quoting directly: "In any significant discussions, most Asean nations are keen to be under the leadership of Thailand which welcomes the most foreign tourists and has recently dismantled its own remaining Visa regulations for the vast majority of its visiting vacationers." Well okay, that is true, that is precisely true actually. They have dismantled a lot of the visa rules for those who are just wanting to come in for tourism. So the Visa exemption program for example has been wildly expanded to a number of new nationalities, not just new nationalities but also in terms of time. For example Russian passport holders are now able to come into Thailand and get 90 days without a Visa; they are just granted a 90-day Visa Exemption stamp. There has been talk that Americans will get that as well as Canadians although we haven't actually seen it promulgated yet so it is interesting to see this.

That said, I would want to point out that we continue to have all the same Non-Immigrant visa rules that we have always had: Business Visas, regulations associated therewith; Retirement Visas, regulations associated therewith; Marriage Visas for example; Education Visas. We still have the Visa Bureaucracy, the Visa infrastructure but yes in terms of tourists, there has been a dismantling if you will other number of the roadblocks associated with both coming to Thailand and remaining in Thailand for tourism purposes.
