As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Thai Retirement Visas in the context of a foreign parent. This is something that is actually not as infrequent as people might think. 

What we will often see is oftentimes many folks who decide to go ahead and retire in Thailand, especially what I call our younger retirees, folks that are call it 50 - 60, because the Retirement Visa age requirement begins, the threshold if you will, begins at 50, it is not unheard of at all for folks to have parents still who are alive and they want to go ahead and bring them over here to Thailand.

I am not going to get into any kind of deep analysis regarding the Thai Retirement Visa, it is no different really the requirements associated for example with a Thai O Retirement Visa or a Thai O-A Retirement Visa, those requirements are not going to vary greatly from a parent to a child. That being said, oftentimes when we see this, now we are talking about parents who are on the older end of the retiree spectrum; when you have got a kid that is over 50 you are probably going to be kind of up there in age. As a result oftentimes we will see here in the office that we need to take a little extra step, we need to take a little bit of extra care in assisting clients who are parents of another retiree because oftentimes they are again older, a little bit more infirm sometimes although we have seen, I can think of one client's mother who did not want special treatment whatsoever. She by God could do things just like anybody else but yeah I would say I think some special consideration is merited when you are looking at the analysis associated with obtaining a Retirement Visa on behalf of the parent of another foreign retiree here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
