Deportation From Another Country to Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing deportation from another country into Thailand. This question does come up from time to time. Let me preface this entire video by saying every set of circumstances is different. None of what I say here should be viewed as any kind of generalization or advice about a future scenario; it's all going to be fact dependent.

Now that said, generally speaking Thailand is not overly keen on taking third country nationals from another country they are being deported from. So what am I talking about? Here recently we have had a lot of talk about foreigners getting stuck in overstay over in Vietnam. I did another video contemporaneously with this one on that topic, and they have been talking about “Well, will I have a problem coming into Thailand if I get deported from Vietnam?" You could use the same analysis though talking about Malaysia or New Zealand or China or the US or someplace in South America. Thailand is going to look askance at any foreigner being deported. If you are being deported into Thailand and you are not Thai, they are going to scrutinize that pretty heavily and they may just deny that person access to Thailand altogether. Using the APP system now they can probably deny that person from boarding the plane just by sending a message through the APP system to the airline that says "hey don't let that guy board because we are not going to let him into Thailand. If you let him board you are just going to have to pay to take him back, so don't do that", basically is what their response is.

So yeah long story short, this isn't always true. We have dealt with cases where there were specific overwhelmingly extenuating circumstances where yeah a deportation from country X into Thailand was considered palatable to the Immigration Authorities under that specific set of circumstances. That said, the sort of presumption should probably be "no, Thailand is probably not going to want to take a deportee, especially a non-Thai deportee from another country.
