"Close Observation Devices" for Foreign Entrants to Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

We have discussed on this channel other news reports about the possibility of tracking devices sometimes called Contact Tracing for foreign people who are entering Thailand; foreign entrants to Thailand amidst this Emergency Decree which has given us a bunch of these new rules with respect to travel to Thailand.

I am going to go ahead and quote from two different places. The first one is from the Bangkok Post, bangkokpost.com. The article is titled: Quarantine to be Eased From April 1. I just wanted to quote this directly: “From October 1 on, they would be replaced with “close observation” devices and “bubble and seal” measures would be imposed at airports, transport routes, tourist destinations and communities near tourist destinations.” Continuing on this theme, a recent article from the Nation that is nationthailand.com, the article is titled: Quarantine Period Cut to 10 Days from April 1 for Overseas Travelers. Quoting directly: “From October 1, only travelers from countries specified in the watch list by the National Communicable Disease Committee will have to Quarantine. However, quarantine measures will change to close observation using technology to help manage and track the Travelers.” So, you may not be in quarantine but you may be required to get one of these contact tracing devices. I don't know. I don’t know exactly what this is going to look like. It sounds pretty strange to me.

That said, it remains to be seen exactly how this will practically be rolled out. But again, this is from multiple sources. We have done other videos on this where they were talking about, I believe it is in thaivisa.com, they had an article where they were talking about yachts that came in. People would have to wear a bracelet to wander around. Okay I mean it is all again I have said this before. I think everybody kind of needs to take a breath talking about tracking devices for people coming into Thailand. I just I think everybody needs to just maybe think long and hard about whether or not that is a real good idea.

That said, they are talking about this so we will keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
