As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing "classic" O Retirement Visas. Why am I making this video? 

There is a lot of talk about all these LTR, Long-Term Residence Visas, which isn't really a Residence Visa as we have discussed in many other videos, but these long-term visas, sort of high-end retirees etc., etc., there is a lot of speculation. People are worried that they are going to discontinue if you will the “classic” O Retirement Visas; and in that case I am kind of talking about the O-A and the O, but I don't really see any discontinuation happening. If anything, I think probably moving forward policy makers are not going to want to discourage anybody who wants to retire in Thailand. For this reason, I just don't see where O Retirement Visas are going anywhere. Now getting into O Retirement status that may be a little bit tricky. As we have discussed in other videos, conversion can be a problem but that is going to be case specific.

The reason I am making this video is with all this talk of these other visas and Thailand Elite etc., people can kind of get away from the basics, get away from the fundamentals. Look, at the end of the day, the O Retirement Visa is a very effective method of maintaining ongoing retiree status here in the Kingdom of Thailand.
