As the title of this video suggests, we are posing the question, "Can I still apply for a Thailand Elite Visa?" For those who are unaware, we have discussed the Elite Visa quite a little bit lately because there has been a lot of talk about the changes to that program which should be coming online from October onward but we are kind of sitting in a limbo period here at the moment where folks that are already in the system or folks coming into the system sort of in a new context, trying to get in now before the rules change and we don't know what the change to the program will actually ultimately look like as of the time of this video. We don't know what the pricing structure looks like; we don't know how many categories there are going to be. Quite honestly, we don't have a lot of insight at the moment as to what the future of the program looks like. What we know right now is that the old terms and conditions are sort of being phased out and we are in this kind of limbo period right now. 

I thought of making this video after reading a recent article from the Pattaya Mail, that is pattayamail.com, the article is titled: Thailand Elite cancels Visa change at the last minute. Quoting directly: "As regards new and fresh Elite applications, paperwork must be submitted by September 15th to qualify for any Elite Visa plan under the old regulation." So that is kind of a hard and fast date September 15th, we know this. Quoting further: "The current programs will then be scrapped for new enrollments and a fresh tariff (details not yet known) will take effect at the beginning of October." So again, as noted in that article we don't know what the new system will look like; we don't know what the pricing structure of the new system will look like. What we do know right now is there is a deadline if you are looking to get into the Elite Visa program and we are sitting here in sort of mid to late August, as of the time of this video.

If you are thinking about this, you are pondering it, it is probably a good idea to contact a legal professional sooner rather than later and get some insight and guidance into how best to proceed. And if you ultimately do think you want to go into the program, probably a good idea to get in under current terms especially from a pricing standpoint as most of the consensus out there, speculation though it may be, most of the consensus seems to be that the prices of these programs are going to go up in or after the changeover September 15th going into October of 2023.
