Are "Vaccine Passports" a Blast From the Past in Thailand?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Vaccine Passports yet again. I have been discussing this a lot. Probably some of my viewers are getting a little tired of talking about it but it looks like it is going to be integral to travel documentation, at least for the reasonably foreseeable future for Thailand so it probably is going to come up.

In a recent comment though on our channel, quoting directly: "I recall a yellow booklet that was used to provide vaccination information 40 years ago. It had yellow fever etc. It was a long time ago. I definitely had some pages filled out when I travelled. If they are still used, why are they not being used? Why reinvent something that already exists?" All good questions. (I am saying ‘all good questions’; it is not part of the quote).

As we discussed, this was a comment on one of our prior videos on Vaccine Passports. We will go ahead and throw up a photo of what is being proposed for the vaccine passport. As can be seen, it is a yellow booklet. It looks to me just like the documentation associated with vaccinations to come to Thailand in the past and it is being rolled out under a new label. I don't think that "reinvent" is absolutely the correct word. They are kind of just doing the same thing again only they are calling it Vaccine Passport.

But yeah, this documentation as is made aware by this commenter and we appreciate that comment; it is insightful. 40 years ago they did have documentation associated with vaccine which was associated with entering Thailand. Now they seem to be for at least the immediately foreseeable future, they are looking at reintroducing that. Exactly what it ends up looking like and all the legal framework associated with that remains to be seen but for now this looks like it is going to be associated with traveling to Thailand at least for the foreseeable future. We will keep you updated on this channel as the situation evolves.
