Are Certificates of Entry Permanently Part of the Thai Visa Process?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing Certificates of Entry. I found something, I often will be reading through stuff and this is actually from Thai Visa, thaivisa.com, they are quoting Thai Rath. The article on Thai Visa is titled: Russians and Indian High Spenders in the Plans as Thai Tourism Minister HALVES 2021 Assessment. They are talking about Minister for Tourism and Sports, Pipat Ratchakitprakarn, but quoting this one sentence, I thought this was really interesting. I am quoting directly: "Pipat said no fewer than 5 million tourists would come in 2021. For now he was busy working on improving the Certificate of Entry website."

So as we have discussed at length for about a year now as of the time of this video, when this COVID response came about and the Emergency Decree was promulgated in March of 2020, what sprang up pretty immediately from this which was something of an abrupt change with respect to Immigration processing, was the creation of this thing called a Certificate of Entry. Now I am not going to get too deep into this. I have done a number of videos on this channel. I urge you, if you don't know what a Certificate of Entry is or you want more insight, again there are a number of videos on this channel, go to the search function and just type in Certificate of Entry; you will probably get at least four videos just with that search term.

The reason I bring this up is ostensibly this looked to be temporary a year ago and as with all "temporary" things in bureaucracy sometimes they stick around; not always, some things go away. But I thought it was interesting that he noted he was "busy working on improving the Certificate of Entry website." So that leads me to believe, at least for the immediately foreseeable future, we are probably going to see the Certificate of Entry remain a fixture for visa processing and Immigration into the Kingdom of Thailand.
