Analysis of Mandatory Vaccination and Thai Visa Extension Issues

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing yet again, we have discussed this in a few other videos, whether or not vaccination will be tied to, mandatory vaccination becoming tied to Visa extensions here in Thailand and to this point, as we have discussed in other videos, NO, that has not been the case.

To provide further clarification I am going to quote from the Phuket News, that is thephuketnews.com. The Phuket News, I would urge folks who are watching this video, go check that out directly. When they publish things like this they always get pretty in depth, provide a lot of insight. I am just going to quote a quick excerpt here. The article is titled: Vaccination not required for Visa extensions confirms Phuket Immigration. Quoting directly: The Phuket Immigration Office in Phuket town has confirmed that proof of vaccination is not required in order to be approved for an extension of stay often just called "Visa Extensions".

So yeah for those who are concerned about this, again we have been talking about this going back I don't know 6-9 months even further back maybe and we have quoted folks that are inside the policy making establishment here in Thailand, inside the Public Health establishment as stating pretty unequivocally in my opinion, this is a voluntary matter and they haven't required this type of thing, in this case for visas. Now there was kind of a kerfuffle or some hubbub about this going back like 6 months ago or so because there were things like having to deal with different kind of check-in procedures at Immigration depending on your situation and that seemed to cause some consternation.

But yeah so far though, there is not any kind of requirement associated with vaccination tied to the Visa Extension process.
