90 Day Reporting in Thailand: Online vs In-Person?

Transcript of the above video:

As the title of this video suggests, we are discussing 90 day reporting here in Thailand. For those who are unaware, for those who are on Non-immigrant Visas, that's things like an O Visa possibly for retirement, Business Visas, O Visas associated with marriage, even Education Visas, there is a 90-day reporting requirement associated with maintaining long term Non-Immigrant status here in the Kingdom. It means you have got to report every 90 days. Now, do you have to do it in person or can you do it online?

I thought of making this video after reading a recent comment on our channel, quote: "I thought you could do your 90-day reporting online now. Why do some people do it online and others complain about the long wait? I really don't understand." Yeah there have been very levels of success people have had with the online application. It's my understanding these days, the online system is working relatively well. Again it's not glitch proof, it's not 100% and some folks end up having to do it in person. Yes there can be something of a wait. Again there may be a line when you get to Thai Immigration of people waiting to go ahead and do their 90-day reporting so yeah it's not the most fun thing to do. We assist a number of clients on a regular basis with 90-day reporting and thereby kind of allow them to just have a real smooth process that they don't even view it as an issue because they just don't hardly deal with it; we basically deal with it.

That being said, yeah there is an in-person and an online component. The online system I will say has been getting better over time. A few years ago it was quite frankly kind of a joke, I mean it really didn't hardly work at all. These days it is my understanding there are folks that are finding that it is a rather, if not easy it's efficient and straightforward; they are able to get it done in a rather straightforward manner and in a relatively short period of time. That said there are others who find it difficult and end up having to do it in person. Some folks, like folks that deal with us oftentimes just ask us to do it on their behalf or help them do it. Again it depends on circumstances but yeah I do get it; there is this kind of bifurcation between online 90-day reporting and doing it in person.
